F-BOMB update

Did some minor clean-up on F-BOMB so it works nicely with Opera. I still haven't gotten around to rebalancing the letters... some day I will. :)

Back

I've been off on vacation (ouch, sunburn!), but I'm back now for a few days. Probably no updates for awhile. It looks like the color box continues to be popular. I'm thinking about doing a 2.0 version that's a bit sexier, or a "micro-edition" that'll work in a smaller window, or a version that works on the psp, hm... we shall see.

Snowflake

I was just goofing around, wanting to do something that wasn't constrained to boxes, and I made a little tech demo with snowflakes, which then, of course, turned into a little game. Snowflake is a simple game where you try to stop snowflakes from touching the ground by moving the mouse near them (you don't need to press any buttons).

Yeah, I know it's summertime now, but I dunno, I just felt like doing something with snowflakes. Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think.

party images

I got a bit bored, so I added 3 new "party" images to the free image library. A present, a cake, and champagne glasses. It's all I'd need to have a good time. :)

Ads revisited

Ok, I got annoyed with some of the ads, so I cleaned them up a bit. Hopefully the site looks a bit cleaner now.

War Bytes updates

Yesterday, I modified some of the warmUp times, most notably DETONATE which now has a warmUp of 2 instead of 10. I also added GOTO, LABEL, and BREAK commands. That's about it.

War Bytes

I haven't posted lately, because I've been furiously trying to finish my latest project: War Bytes. No, it's not a social commentary. It's a robot battle game where you can program the robots using a basic programming language. I know the name kinda sucks, but pretty much every other combination of (Ro)bo(t), Battle, War, etc. are being used for something else, and I try to have at least a somewhat new name for my stuff.

Anyway, I think my head will explode if I look at it any more, but check it out and let me know what you think. I'd love suggestions on balance, new commands, new weapons, whatever.

Oblivion Alchemy Wizard Update

Just did a quick update to the Oblivion Alchemy Wizard. It now allows you to create potions by selecting the ingredients (rather than having to select effects first). Nothing fancy, but a few people were asking for it so I went ahead and did it. Must... sleep... now...

Back to the old F-BOMB

Got some good feedback, and I've restored the F-BOMB to only take out 4 letters. I'm going to focus more on the letter distribution to make is a bit less brutal.

Speaking of feedback, thanks to everybody that has sent feedback! I love feedback! :)

Other Changes

I decided F-BOMB was too hard, so now the F-BOMB removes all letters from the board. Not sure if that's better or not. Still need to play with it some more.

I also changed the ads (*shiver* advertising!). I thought I'd give amazon a chance and basically replaced a lot of the google ads with amazon ones. More of an experiment than anything else.

Yes, I know ads suck, but it's how I pay for the site. I'm not getting rich off of them, that's for sure. :)

In color

I colorized a few of the images in the image library for fun. I think they look a lot better, but it does make them harder for people to use generically. Hard to say which way is better. I'm not going to sweat it, though. :)

Green Dragon

I guess I mentioned it before, but I'm kind of getting into drawing dragons. So, I went ahead and chucked a new dragon up. Not terribly exciting, but at least this one is in color. :)

F-BOMB

After the initial success of the color box, I thought I'd add another puzzle type game. This time I decided I'd go for a word game. The tricky part was that I didn't want to have a huge dictionary (bandwidth = $$$), so I decided to limit it to only 4 letter words, which also gave it a nice kind of twist. Originally, the idea was to penalize "bad" words (although they would be removed from the board, avoiding "game over"), but then I decided to add the "F-BOMB" which allows you to just blow away four letters from the board. It took a bit of play-testing to get it balanced, and it still feels a bit on the hard side, but I think it turned out ok. Anyway, check out F-BOMB : the four-letter word game.

On a side note, I decided I would put it on reddit.com for chuckles and it instantly got modded down. :( Ah well, you can't win them all. I'm still trying to figure out the best place to market my new stuff... Man, this internet thing is tricky.

Search Engines, Part Deux

Well, the search engines that do know about my site (ahem, google, *cough* *cough*) actually reindexed me, so they don't have my stupid "no javascript page" showing up any more. Yay. I feel so much better now...

The Godfather, Part I

I was out away from my computer for the past few days (painful!), but I'm back now. I'm now officially a godfather, whee. But now on to things you care much more about, I'm sure. I finally added a "contact" page so you can send me email from the site. I'd put up an email address, but I'd just get slaughtered by spam, so I figured I'd go with a web form for now. Other than that, I'm just settling back in after 2 flights in 48 hours.
